The Etsu Nupe in Niger, Dr Yahaya Abubakar, on Saturday commended Gov. Nyesom Wike of Rivers for his outstanding developmental strides and massive transformation of the state.
The Etsu Nupe, who made the commendation in Port Harcourt when he paid a courtesy visit to Wike, also lauded the governor for the security level in the state,
The royal father, Who is the Coordinating Chairman of National Council of traditional rulers, said the State of security in Rivers was different from the way it was peddled outside.
The News Agency of Nigeria [NAN] reports that the Etsu Nupe was accompanied on the visit by the Emir of Gumi, Justice Lawal Gumi.
“We have observed the developmental strides of Governor Wike, roads have been constructed and we have seen that there is ongoing reclamation of land; Rivers State is so safe; I couldn’t even remember I have security agents around me; we pray Almighty God to give him that knowledge for greater service, ” he said
The royal father lauded Governor Wike for accepting to host traditional rulers from the 36 states of the federation between January 28 and 31, 2018.
In his remarks, Wike said the State would continue to be a home for all Nigerians and secured location for profitable investments.
He noted that peace and unity were important for the socio-economic and political development of the country.
The governor stressed that Nigeria would be better in unity than in division, adding that Rivers people would continue to work for the unity of the country.
“From time to time, there may be disagreements, but these disagreements strengthen us, we should never allow the disagreements degenerate into division.
“Rivers State is a home for all, we will continue to accommodate all groups; our diversity keeps us going, it makes us stronger as a people,” he said.
Wike noted that Rivers would serve as a great host to the traditional rulers meeting in the state.
The two traditional rulers were in the state to attend the inauguration of the Palace, Church and Foundation of King Appolus Chu, Paramount Ruler of Okori, Eleme in Eleme Local Government area in Rivers.[ NAN]
