Rivers State Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaech will address an exclusive audience hosted by the Chatham House,London on Wednesday,July 24 .
The gathering is scheduled to discuss the issue of “Reform and Resource Governance in Nigeria”
A statement on Chatham House website said, “Nigeria’s state governors play a key role in the country’s domestic development through reform implementation, infrastructure development, service provision and allocation of resources to local governments. Momentum is building towards Nigeria’s 2015 elections, and the need to address immediate security and development challenges is becoming increasingly urgent as the country seeks to become sub-Saharan Africa’s largest economy and remain its largest producer of crude oil.
“The Governor of Rivers State Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, who manages the second largest economy in Nigeria after Lagos, will discuss his government’s strategies for responding to competing priorities across his state and efforts to improve governance and transparency”Chatham House said.
