The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Ogbaru Local Government of Anambra has said it would ensure all votes in council go to the candidates on its platform in the 2019 general election.
Mr Arinzechukwu Awogu, Chairman of the council, said this while addressing newsmen after he met with APGA stalwarts in Ogbaru on Sunday.
Awogu said the he had been able to reconcile party faithful in the council after the disagreements from the primary election, adding that they were now in one accord.
According to him, the APGA candidate for Anambra North Senatorial District, Ogbaru Federal Constituency and Ogbaru 1 and Ogbaru State Constituency are assured of victory in Ogbaru.
“APGA is Ogbaru and Ogbaru is APGA, we are not going to lose one vote to any other party, we have resolved for total victory for all our candidates in Ogbaru.
“We have overcome the misunderstandings within the party in Ogbaru and the stakeholders have resolved to deliver all APGA candidates in the general elections.
“This local government is a deciding factor, Sen. Stella Oduah, candidate of the PDP is from Ogbaru, but because she is not our candidate she will not get our votes.
“We shall vote Chief John Emeka for Senate 100 per cent, Mrs Chinwe Nwaebili for House of Representative and the two candidates for Anambra House of Assembly,’’ he said.
Awogu said APGA had done well as government in Anambra under the leadership of Gov. Willie Obiano in terms of economic prosperity and security of lives and property.
According to him, having benefited from the purposeful leadership of APGA government in Anambra, we shall ensure that those who are candidates of the party are elected to ensure continuity. (NAN)
