The Speaker, House of Representatives, Mr Yakubu Dogara has felicitated with the Muslim community in the country as they join other believers all over the world to commemorate the birthday of Prophet Muhammed.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs, Mr Turaki Hassan on Thursday in Abuja, the speaker also urged the faithful to continue to demonstrate the good virtues of the prophet.
He that emulating the good virtues of the prophet in their lives would engender the peace and unity needed for the growth and development of the country.
“I wish to enjoin you to replicate in your lives, the lessons of tolerance, piety, patience, honesty, justice and good neighbourliness as preached and exemplified by prophet Muhammed,” he said
The speaker also urged the Muslim faithful to use the occasion to pray for continued unity, peace and progress of the nation.
“The celebration of Maulud should also renew our faith and increase our tempo in coming together as a people of common destiny to pray for unity, peace.“ (NAN)
