Speaking at a press conference to inform the media of the company’s achievements over the past five years, the CEO, Ms. Funke Opeke, discussed the evolution of the company, which started its activities in As operator of submarine cables before becoming a complete supplier of cross-enterprise communication services (business-to-business). She explained that since its creation, MainOne aims to reduce the digital divide in West Africa, and become the Internet service provider and wholesale preferred online commercial catalyst in the region. She believes that this is achieved since the company now offers its services in 7 countries in West Africa, where an impressive list of over 500 major telecommunications operators, service providers Internet, government agencies, large enterprises and the region’s educational institutions operating in its network. Today MainOne offers the highest service capacity in the region on its submarine cable; interconnected with the Internet exchange points that are the London Internet Exchange (LINX), the Amsterdam Internet Exchange (AMIX), the Nigerian Internet Exchange (IXPN) and the Ghanaian Internet Exchange (GIX), the company is also the first Internet transit provider in West Africa. These achievements have created new business opportunities for local businesses and have had a positive impact in terms of job creation.

In five years, MainOne has invested more than $ 300 million in the development of infrastructures in West Africa to improve connectivity and data centers in West Africa.
