pdplogoAs the contest for 2015 elections gather momentum in Ekiti State, a former staff of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Ariyo-Dare Atoye has joined the race for the House of Assembly seat.
Atoye, a former President of Ekiti State Students Association in Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, is seeking the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to represent Ekiti South-West Constituency II in the State Assembly.
He is the National Coordinator of Democratic Young Patriots (DYP), a group who independently coordinated a media campaign and galvanized online support for the success of Dr. Ayodele Fayose at the June 21, 2014 election.
According to a statement made available to newsmen by his campaign group, Team Ariyo-Dare Atoye (TADA), “he has consulted widely with his people and has received the blessings of the elders and the youth to run for the assembly seat”.
“Atoye is a humble young patriot who has contributed significantly to the development of his community and the nation in several youth initiatives. Since 2010, he has been giving scholarships to primary school pupils in his home town, Igbara-Odo Ekiti and supporting numerous others”.
“He is a loyal, principled and trustworthy fellow with the intellectual acumen to legislate for the good governance of Ekiti State. He shares in the narrative of the common man and his politics is defined by what he can offer to the people.
The statement further added that Atoye will complement the incoming administration of Fayose, as “a trusted fellow who is reliable and one who will offer partnership that works”.
He has continued to receive support from PDP members in his constituency.
