#TrackNigeria: The Chief of Army Staff ( COAS ), Lt Gen. Tukur Buratai has extended Exercise Harbin Kunama III in Zamfara to the neighbouring Katsina and Sokoto states as bandits flee to those states.
Addressing a press conference at the Army Headquarters on Friday, he disclosed that the operation was being reorganized to effectively ensure complete defeat of the fleeing bandits.
Represented by the chief of Training and Operations, Maj. Gen. Lamidi Adeosun, Buratai explained that the operation is to restore public confidence and enhance safety while ensuring socioeconomic activities continue without fear or intimidation in the country.
He also appreciated the traditional rulers and religious leaders and enjoined them to continue to support the Nigerian Army with credible information that would assist in the professional conduct of the exercise and operations to rid the area of banditry and criminality.
The chief also call on all religious leaders to pray for the success of the exercise and operations as well as pray for the total eradication of insecurity in the country.
