The Prime Minister and Head of Government of Niger Republic, Alhaji Brigi Rafini has said that the cooperation indices between his country and Nigeria have confirmed the inseparable ties that exist between the two countries.
He said this on Thursday in Illela town of Illela local government area of Sokoto state when he was invited to commission some projects executed by Sokoto state government.
According to Rafini, “Sokoto state government has, over the years executed projects that benefit not only Nigerians but also the people of Niger Republic. It is not the people of Sokoto alone that benefit from these projects. This has strengthened cooperation between the two governments as well as increased trade cooperation between the business classes of the two countries.”
Earlier, governor Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto state enumerated the number of projects, including several roads that link the two countries on all borders. “This is intended to promote trade between Nigeria and Niger. It will also increase interactions between the peoples of the two countries.”
The Prime Minister commissioned the five-kilometre township road; the 84-kilometre Sokoto – Illela road, Government Boarding Primary School and the Illela local government Governor’s Lodge.
