Special Assistant to Ex-Gov Orji Uzor Kalu of Abia State, Mr Peter Eze has been honoured with a merit leadership award of the University of Nigeria Nsukka,UNN.
Eze was honoured with Meritorious ‘Distinguished Leadership Award’ during the Homecoming event and lecture series of the Department of Economics, University of Nigeria Nsukka held on July 22,2017.
Other awardees at the event were Governor of Central Bank, Mr Godwin Emefiele who also presented a paper, Member of House of Representatives Hon. Ferdinand Dozie Nwankwo ;Immediate past president South-East South-South Professionals of Nigeria Mr Emeka Ugwu-Oju; Vice Chancellor of Niger Delta University ,Professor samuel Edoumiekumo ;Chairman of PowerGold Industries Limited, Chief Roland C. Okeke and others.
Speaking at the presentation of the award , Head of Department of Economics, Professor Ifeoma Madueme said the award was in line with Departmental board resolution.
She said “Peter Eze demonstrated outstanding leadership ability and commitment during his tenure as the president of NESA 2013/2014 Session”, adding that through the award which is unprecedented, the department wishes to encourage purposeful leadership among students.
In his remarks ,the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Benjamin Ozumba said “University of Nigeria Nsukka places high premium on positive efforts and accomplishments ” adding that the University is realising the dream and vision of its founding father through academic excellence and quality administration.
