Credible reports reaching our newsroom shows that Chief David Sabo Kente, a former Gubernatorial aspirant in Taraba state is enmeshed in a business row with his immediate younger brother of the same mother and father.
His younger brother, Dr John Sabo has allegedly told family members that DSK has threatened to kill him over a business disagreement .Based on the threat, which he believes is potent, he Dr John has decided to go on exile for safety, family sources said.
A family member who wants to remain anonymous disclosed that “the whole family is deeply shocked over the development and they really wonder why a man will want to spill his biological brother’s blood over temporary things of this world
The informant said the family is also of the opinion that Dr John should leave the country immediately for safety.
According to the family member , “Dr John is a honest and truthful man who fears God and He will always stand on the truth, he has amazing wisdom and we all respect him in the family. In fact we fondly call him the white man of the family because he is very organized, truthful, humble and approaches every matter in the family with uncommon wisdom therefore commands respect from the old and young.
Newsdiaryonline learnt that DSK had asked his immediate younger brother who is a trained medical doctor to resign from his job so as to manage his businesses. After some delay, Dr John agreed to his elder brother’s request and resigned to join him in business.
Dr John managed the business while DSK ran for election for the governorship of Taraba State and lost.
A family source said: “For heaven sake how can you ask your brother to resign from his esteemed job as a medical Doctor to join in a business and he developed the business for 5 years to bring it to its present status but because you lost an election, you suddenly accused him of working against you during the 2015 elections “
Matters got worse according to a family source when DSK allegedly announced that his wife received a prophecy that his brother was planning to unseat him from the business.
After the alleged prophecy,DSK began moves aimed at sacking his brother whom he had prevailed upon to resign from his job years back. A family member asked : “Where is it done on earth? We know Dr John as a man of integrity and a honest man who will never contemplate such. It was just a demonic plan by DSK and his wife to get rid of Dr John from the business.
“Our greatest surprise is even the involvement of Hon Josiah Sabo Kente who does not owe a single share in the company. Instead of taking a position that will bring peace between his brothers, he has rather chosen to also align with DSK and threaten Dr John’s life for whatever favour he hopes to get from DSK which is very surprising to us as a family”.
“In our opinion, the behavior of DSK and Hon Josiah are grossly abnormal so we decided that Dr John should go on exile for safety until such a time that the duo of DSK and Hon Josiah come to their senses”
The family member who disclosed the information concluded by saying “ As it is today, if anything happens to Dr John, we will hold DSK and Hon Josiah responsible”.
When contacted to comment on the matter, a close friend of the Sabo Kente family who wants to remain anonymous said ” I am deeply concerned over what is going on. A matter as simple as this shouldn’t have been allowed to go beyond the family circle. How can you ask somebody who is even more educated than you to sign off his shares in companies where he legally own shares and walk away, where is it done on this planet my brother, he asked. Chief decided to use physical assault on Dr John over the matter and Dr John decided to use a civilized means by going to court to make his case and from my interaction with the family members, they are all in support of the steps taken by Dr John to have his rights enforced. Instead of doing the needful, Chief and Hon Josiah embarked on blackmail which were all found to be lies and now they are threatening the innocent man’s life. Hon Josiah even went up to the extent of sending a written Death Threat to Dr John via a whatsapp message. I understand Dr John had to report the threat to his life to the police which led to the detention of Hon Josiah. Just recently, Chief DSK and Hon Josiah went to the hospital where Dr John works and issued similar threats to his life to the management of the hospital such that Dr John had to resign his appointment for security reasons. Chief DSK must realize that he who lives in a glass house must not throw stones. Though Hon Josiah has written an undertaking as well as sign the police recognizance form following his detention by the police command in Abuja before he was released as a result of the death threat he issued to Dr John, I am of the opinion that Dr John should immediately go on exile as proposed by the family.
Newsdiaryonline learnt that Dr John’s solicitors had made a complaint to the police about the threat to their client’s life.The petition addressed to APO Divisional Police Station,FCT Police Command was titled”complaint of threat to life against RT.Hon Dr JosiaH Sabo Kente.”A
A copy of the police report sighted by Newsdiaryonline read in part thus”From the totality of the facts adduced from investigation, it is pertinent to note that the action of the suspect was born out of the unresolved misunderstanding between the complainant and their elder brother Chief David Sabo Kente, not minding the criminal contents of the messages.
“However, since the suspect has written a letter of undertaking upon a meeting of peaceful resolution and was binded accordingly,it is hereby recommended that the parties be advised to absolutely embrace dialogue for peace to reign between them as the complainant has as well written for the withdrawal of the case.”
Despite the police intervention, family sources said the case may have worsened and Dr John has chosen to go on exile, a decision supported by some of his family members as well.
When contacted, Dr John confirmed that indeed there is a business disagreement between him and his elder brother Chief DSK and the matter is in court. He also confirmed that his life has been severally threatened by his brothers and attempts were made to eliminate him but God has been faithful in thwarting all their plans. He concluded by saying he has concluded plans to go on exile based on the concerns and insistence of some family members.
