Senator Aliyu Wamakko has said that the Permanent Voter Card ( PVC) is the only power the electorate can use to vote credible candidates of their choices to positions of power.
He was addressing various youths and women groups who paid solidarity visit on him at his Gawon Nama residence Thursday.
”The PVC is a very potent weapon to either vote in or vote out any candidates seeking to occupy any elective offices. So, without it, one would not be able to exercise his due constitutional responsibility of casting his or her vote in the nation’s electoral process,” he said.
Admonishing the people of the state to strive to collect their PVCs since the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was still distributing the cards, Wamakko added that any electorate that failed to collect the cards would disenfranchise himself during the forthcoming general elections.
He also appealed to the people of the state to shun all acts that were capable of breaching peace and unity.
“Peace is the veritable tool of national development and without it no nation could prosper to greater heights. We should therefore as patriotic citizens continue to uphold the noble virtues of peace, unity and the love for one another, irrespective of any religious, ethnic or political affinities,” Wamakko stressed.
