The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Sokoto state used consensus during its local governments congresses held on Saturday to ratify the 19-member executive committees for each of the 23 local governments of the state.
The Organizing Secretary of the party, Abubakar Kantoma told newsmen that the congresses were conducted with between 80 to 90 percent of the 23 local governments using dialogue.
“That was why most of the problems that arose sequel to the exercise were resolved. We used consensus as a sign of the unity of the party across the state,” Kantoma said.
Caretaker chairman of the party in Isa local government, Alhaji Moyi Durumbu also told Newsmen that “We are just here to ratify our consensus agreements and to show that PDP is united in ISa local government and Sokoto state in general.”
The caretaker committee Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Santali also told Newsmen that the party had not received any complaint thus far.
“We have so far not received any complaints from anybody or any local government in this direction. Even if we do so later, we will use the internal party mechanisms and its constitution to resolve them amicably,” Santali said.
