The People’s Redemption Party (PRP) in Lagos State on Tuesday pledged to give Lagosians a new lease of life if voted into power in the 2019 general elections.
The Chairman of the party, Alhaji Mustapha Adekunle, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that the governorship, National Assembly and House of Assembly’s candidates of the party would only prioritise the interests of the people.
According to him, the party will not loot the state treasury but concentrate on improving the lives of the downtrodden.
Adekunle said: “If PRP is allowed into power, we will bring a different change to the lives of the people, not the one people are facing now. We intend to install a change everybody will enjoy.
“We are determined to bring a new lease of life to the people in the area of quality education and good rewards for our teachers.
“Our infrastructural development will be in line with the needs of the people, not the ones people do not need.
“We will look at housing, power and empowerment. We won’t deceive the electorate with promises we won’t keep all because we need their votes. The PRP promises to do better if we come to power in 2019.
“We have a very good and solid action plan to improve on the economy and bring Nigerians out of poverty,’’ Adekunle said.
The chairman said that despite the much acclaimed description of the state as a mega city, much was still needed to end the infrastructural deficit, thus making a lot of residents to continue living in the slums and suffering.
He said that the people needed a party that knew the problems of the state and what the people were suffering from.
There are 91 registered political parties in the country. (NAN)
