Kaduna state primary Health Care Agency has said it will commence measles vaccination from 26th – 30th October as well as 2nd- 7th November 2017.
The agency’s Executive Secretary Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe disclosed this at the sensitization of Media team on on the forthcoming measles camapaing in the state.
Dr. Hadiza who spoke through the Deputy Director of the Agency Alh. Hamza Ikara said that the first Phase of the exercise will commence with 13 local government areas while the second phase will commence with 10 local government areas.
She disclosed that the state government has released 38 Million Naira for the exercise which the agency has already received the money.
Dr. Hadiza lamented that in spite the huge amount been spent in the past towards eradication of the disease, still some areas are having the problem.
She said that 1,938 team are to conduct the exercise across the 23 local government areas of the state, adding all the hard reach communities will also be covered during the exercise.
Dr. Hadiza then solicited for the supports of media towards sensitizing the general public on the need to give out their children for the vaccination.
