#TrackNigeria: The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said that 461,988 Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) have yet to be collected in Adamawa.
Mr Kasim Gaidam, the state’s Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), made this known in an interview on Wednesday in Yola.
“There is 461,988 uncollected Permanent Voter Cards in the state while 1,992,146 eligible voters were registered for the 2019 general elections,’’ Gaidam said.
Friday is the deadline given by INEC for the collection of PVCs across the country.
On the ratio between male and female voters, he said that women had a higher number of cards collected.
The resident electoral commissioner said that so far, necessary arrangements had been made for the successful conduct of election in the state.
He said that no fewer than 18,000 ad-hoc staff including, members of the NYSC had been recruited, while 11,000 would also be mobilised to man the 1, 400 polling units across the state. (NAN)
