The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, has extended his heartfelt condolences to the Nigerian Air Force and the families of five personnel who tragically lost their lives in a road accident on October 22, 2024.

The accident occurred along the Jos-Akwanga road near Hawan Kibo. The fallen personnel were en route as part of the Nigerian military contingent preparing for the upcoming 2nd Africa-Military Games, scheduled to take place from November 18 to 30, 2024.

In his statement, General Musa paid tribute to the bravery and dedication of the personnel. “These individuals were not only exemplary members of the Nigerian Armed Forces but also esteemed representatives of our nation’s spirit and valor. Their untimely departure has left a profound void in our hearts and the hearts of a grateful nation,” he said. “We honor their dedication and service, which stands as a testament to their commitment to our country’s defense both at home and abroad.”

The CDS emphasized that while the tragic incident is a painful loss, it also serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made daily by the nation’s military personnel.
