The national under-14 tennis champion, Chidinma Eze of Onitsha Sports Club, on Tuesday in Owerri retained her title by winning the 2018 Enic Junior Tennis League sponsored by Cutix Plc.
She defeated Odor Bethel in two sets to win the girls category of the competition.
Also, Uche Fortune of STDC Owerri won the under-15 boys category of the league by defeating David Okonkwo of Enugu Sports Club in two sets.
Uche Chijioke of Recession Club of Orlu equally won the boys’ under-12 category by defeating Tochukwu Okafor in two sets.
Meanwhile, in another development, Kingsley Uduh and members of his executive committee have been re-elected to serve the Enic Junior Tennis League for another tenure.
The election came up immediately after the 2018 edition of the league.
Uduh, who was re-elected President and is from Onitsha Sports Club, said in his inauguration speech that his administration would effect great changes in the organisation of the league.
“I will double my efforts to ensure that the organisation is self-sustaining,’’ he said. (NAN)
