The Coalition of Sokoto State Youth and Students Forum, on Wednesday, advised its members to desist from political thuggery before, during and after 2019 general elections.

Mr Isa Usman, Chairman of the coalition, said at a news conference in Sokoto that the call was to ensure youths did not allow themselves to be used for selfish political interests.

“We are here to dissociate ourselves from some politicians who have in the last couple of days abandoned the platform upon which they secure political power.

“We also want to advise our teeming youths to desist from allowing those politicians to use them for political thuggery and other violent activities across our respective domains,” he said.

Usman further said that the coalition is in full support of President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government.

“We have come to tell the world of our determination to ensure the All Progressives Congress (APC) is ushered into victory again come 2019.

“We also want to salute the integrity, intelligence and brilliance of Sen. Aliyu Wamakko, as he continues to provide leadership and deliver on his mandate to our people.

“Hence, our total declaration of support and call on the good people of Sokoto State to uphold the virtues of sincerity and love of the people, as symbolised by Wamakko,” he added. (NAN)
