Lady Margery Chuba Okadigbo, wife of late Senate President, Chuba Okadigbo has been been declared the authentic candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the last senatorial election in Anambra North district.
But it is not yet over for Mrs Okadigbo as the apex court did not order that she should be sworn.Justice Chukwuma Eneh who led the panel of apex court justices stopped short of giving that order because it was not part of her prayers before the court.Her lawyers are now required to make fresh moves toward a relief seeking her to be sworn in.But today’s ruling is a major for her.
Also, the opposition Congress for Progressive Change ,CPC Senator Yusuf Nagogo lost the Nassarawa North Senatorial Seat to CPC’s Solomon Ewuga,who has also served as minister of state FCT.
In a related development the gale of Supreme court rulings today also hit the House of Representatives as Bassey Dan Abia (PDP) was declared winner of the Eket/Esit/Ibeno/Onna Federal Constituency seat,thus bringing to an end the tenure of Eseme Eyibo also of the PDP.
