The governorship race in Ondo State is already gathering momentum as another high -ranking technocrat declares his intention to contest the October gubernatorial election. Penultimate week in Ilaje-Ese Odo, Prince Soji Ehinlanwo declared his intention to contest for the coveted office at Alagbaka House in Akure under the umbrella of the Congress for Progressive Change, CPC.
Ehinlanwo who recently decamped from the ruling Labour Party stated that his major reason for aspiring to lead the people of Ondo State out of squalor and poverty is to move the State forward and provide the much needed infrastructural facilities for the development of the State. He told journalists that the incumbent governor, Olusegun Mimiko and his co. have pocketed the progress of Ondo State to the detriment of the overall interests of the people they swore to protect. He said if his party, the CPC finally endorsed his candidature at the congress slated for early July, he will do everything within his powers to bring international and local investors to change the face of the State and turn her fortunes around to an all time high. Ehinlanwo stated that his credentials as a world class IT Professional and Consultant places him in good stead to take the State out of economic doldrums.
“Ondo State which used to be the envy of others in the South West in the past, even in the entire Nigeria has been comatose since the inception of the present governor for his lack of vision and economic mismanagement”. He noted that Ilaje-Ese Odo that produced the chunk of the States economy is totally backward.He pledged to address this political miscalculation and spread the wealth which accrue from the area around the State by providing adequate infrastructure for the development of the State.
According to the spokesman of the aspirant, Segun Jones his over 13 years experience in Change Initiative Projects around the globe is a major asset that the people of Ondo State must tap from to develop the State further. Ehinlanwo implored his teeming supporters to remain firm in this resolve to push out the economic vampires milking the State dry as his government will be made of men of integrity conversant with 21st century development agenda of the developed countries to move the State further. Ehinlanwo is presently a Consultant with the European Union in Luxemborg and have trotted around Europe, Asia and America consulting on deep public change initiative.
