Irate youth around the busy Muda Lawal market in Bauchi state metropolis averted another market bomb blast when they set ablaze a female suicide who attempted to bomb the Market during the early hours of Sunday.
It was said that the suicide bomber headed to her target (Muda Lawal Market) at about 8am where people usually congregate in the morning to either buy or sale goods.
However, the suicide bomber would have successfully accomplished her mission if not for the introduction of the stop and search at all the entrance of markets in the state after the Central Market bomb blast which consumed many lives and property went off in flame.
The refusal of the suicide bomber to submit herself to the routine checks at the entrance of the market prompted the decision the of youths to seize her bag which on opening it they discovered two Improvised Explosive Device and two empty bottles tied to her back, said an eye witness.
According to the eye witness, the youth started beating her and stopped at intervals to ask her questions such as who sent her, from where, and how many of them are in the market and for how long has she been into the act of suicide bombing?
An eye witness told our correspondent that despite the beating the suicide bomb did not even shed tears but only confessed that they are four and later said two but could not mention the whereabouts of the other suicide bombers.
Meanwhile, mobile and regular police have cordoned off the scene of the incident and evacuated the burnt body of the suicide bomber.
