PDP Primary Wars : Sambo Intensifies Peace Moves ,Hails Party

Vice President Arc Mohammed Namadi Sambo has commended the efforts of the PDP government across the federation for their credible performance.

He was speaking on Wednesday at the reconciliation meeting of the fallout of the PDP Kebbi State Gubernatorial primaries in Birnin Kebbi .

The Vice President noted the giant strides of the Kebbi State Governor, Alhaji Saidu Usman Dakingari, in infrastructural development, specifically mentioning the construction of quality roads and bridges, the rise in school enrollment and his provision of excellent medical facilities.

While appreciating the Sir Ahmadu Bello, the Sardauna of Sokoto International Airport in Birnin Kebbi the Vice President expressed delight that such facilities could only be found in PDP controlled States. Such states he mentioned included Bauchi, Jigawa, Akwa Ibom, Gombe, Katsina and Taraba States.

Commending the  state for being the  leading rice producer in Nigeria, he eulogized the farmers for their high yield, stressing that this yield would be further increased with the launch of the Great Green Wall Programme to combat desertification in the State, which was launched sometime ago by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan in Kebbi State, further adding  that the Federal Government had approved the establishment of a big rice mill in the state, to effectively harnesses the high production.

The Vice President also said that in view of the rise in school enrollment in the state, government established a university to cater for the  educational needs of the people.

Arc Sambo used the opportunity to enjoin the people to shun all divisive campaigns that tend to polarize the people along ethnic, religious or sectional lines. He noted that as Nigerians we remain one indivisible entity and political rhetoric should not be our bane.

He called for total unity of the party and support for the candidature of Gen Bello Sarkin Yaki so that the party will triumph at the forthcoming general elections . He stated that all the gubernatorial aspirants have agreed to team up and work assiduously towards the success of the party.

Other speakers at the occasion included Governor Dakingari of Kebbi state who reiterated his commitment to the success of the party at all levels and  Dr Bello Halliru Mohammed who denounced sentiments being employed by the opposition to canvass for votes, while Gen Bello Sarkin Yaki, the gubernatorial candidate of the PDP, promised to run an all inclusive government if elected as the governor.

It will be recalled that Gen Bello Sarkin Yaki has been having a running battle with eleven other aspirants which included Alhaji Mansur Shehu, Gen Isa  Dan Hanne, Prof Mohammed Gulma, Dr Saidu Sambawa, Alh Zubairu Turaki, Ibrahim K Aliyu, Gen Mohammed Magoro, Umar Abubakar Tafida, Sani Umar Kalgo, Dr Zagi and Abubakar Mallam, as well as the the incumbent deputy governor.

Before reaching out to the warring  ‘stakeholders’ in Kebbi, the vice president had reportedly reconciled the emabattled party in Yobe State,a development that made Adamu Waziri and Dr Yarima  Ngama agree to work together.
