A Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Atiku Care Foundation (ACF) Thursday donated food items to victims of gunmen’s attack in Zamfara.
The National Chairman of ACF, Amb. Aliyu Ibn-Abbas presented the items to the victims at the Yandoton-Daji township primary school in Tsafe local government area of the state.
Ibn-Abbas said the items included 40 bags of rice, 10 bags of Spaghetti, 100 cartons of Indomie, toiletries and cosmetics, detergents, etc.
He said the NGO was engaged assisting the less-privileged as well as vulnerable groups in the country.
“We embarked on a nationwide tour to states that were affected by insurgency. We were in Adamawa state yesterday and today in Zamfara. From here we will be heading to Benue.
“We are in Zamfara to condole with the families and communities affected by the insecurity activities and to provide them with food items aimed at assisting them,’’ he said.
While calling on Nigerians irrespective of religious or political differences to embark on prayers and seek God’s intervention to end security problems, Ibn-Abbas described security challenges facing some states in the country as “unfortunate and worrisome.
The State Chairman of ACF, Kabiru Amadu commended the National Chairman for the gesture, adding that beneficiaries were selected from the affected communities in Tsafe, Gusau and Bukkuyum Local Government Areas.
He urged well-meaning individuals, associations and the government to provide more assistance to the victims.
The Northwest Zonal Director of ACF, Lawal Abubakar Zannah charged managers of the IDP camp to distribute the items judiciously and with the fear of God.
He commended the National Chairman for the initiative.
