Ikorodu LG holds budget retreat, pledges increased democratic dividends

The Chairman of  Ikorodu Local Government in Lagos State, Mr Wasiu Adesina,  has reassured of the the administration’s  determination to deliver more dividends of democracy to the people.

Adesina gave the assurance on Friday in Lagos during the LG’s 2022 Budget Retreat with theme as : “Budget of New Beginning” .

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the chairman led the legislative arm, management and heads of units of the LG for the year 2022 budget retreat where stakeholders were allowed extensive deliberations and considerations.

“In 2022, Ikorodu LG is set to take ownership of the Ita-Elewa open space, reconstruction of Salvation Army, Solomade Street, Arowolo Street in Itupate.

“Also, the  Agura-Gberigbe road, despite being a state road, palliative measures will be completed therein, Mowonla road, Dada street and Itun- Domiganran road.

“Three boreholes will be constructed in Ward A2, asphalt/ resurfacing in Pashoku, Ita-Elewa, Itumoja, Kokoro Abu will also be attended to.

“Improving the standard of Agura PHC, landscaping of the Local Government secretariat, official vehicles for the chieftains amongst others are  lined up projects for the year,” Adesina said.

The council boss commended residents of Ikorodu and appreciated them for their unwavering love and support since the inception of his administration.

He reassured that this administration is determined to continue to deliver more dividend of democracy to the people.

Adesina commended the efforts of Governor Babajide Sanwoolu of Lagos State in the areas of infrastructural development and welfare of citizenry.

The chairman also commended the management of Ikorodu LG in their various capacities as well as the legislative arm for their unflinching support.

The council boss appealed to the residents to continue to be focused and supportive to attain more success for Ikorodu LG.

Also speaking at the event, Dr Olushoga Badejo, a Consultant, who was the guest lecturer, emphasised on all that comprised  a budget including  the process, evaluation methods and ways to improve revenue generation.

Badejo commended the chairman on his efforts in harmonising and ensuring collaboration of offices, management and members of the LG.

“The chairman has significantly done a lot since he assumed duties but with more collaboration, the council will achieve more,” he said. (NAN)
