PDM reconciles plateau factions

The National Leadership of the Peoples Democratic Movement met with the two contending groups of the Party in Plateau State on Monday to resolve the conflict within the State chapter of the Party and harmonize the Party structure in the State.
A communiqué at released to reporters said the meeting had in attendance, delegates from the two contending groups who assured the National Leadership that they had the mandate of their respective groups to attend the meeting and enter into binding resolutions and agreements.
In setting about the resolution of the crisis, the meeting deliberated on two major contending issues which are; Harmonization of state leadership and choice of state secretariat of the party.
The communiqué said at the end of deliberations, the two groups unanimously agreed that the position of the State Chairman should be conceded to Chief S.D. Lot’s group, while that of the State Secretary should be produced by the Alh. Yahaya Kega led group.
“Following from the above therefore, the two groups unanimously endorsed the nominations of:Chief S. D. Lot as the State Chairman and Mallam Sani Ahmed as the State Secretary” the communiqué said
Delegates at the meeting equally resolved to adopt the same approach in the harmonization of offices between the two groups across the Local Governments and Wards in the State.
On the choice of State Party Secretariat, the two groups unanimously voted to recognize and use No. 29 Bukuru Bye-Pass, British-American Junction, Jos as the Plateau State Secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Movement.
The meeting further urged the National Leadership of the Party to immediately formalize the resolutions of the harmonization meeting to enable the Party commence full activities in Plateau State.
