Mr. Femi Adesina the new president of the Nigerian Guild of Editors has been described as a thorough bred professional and a pride to the practice of journalism in Nigeria. Former Governor of Ogun State Otunba Gbenga Daniel stated this while reacting to the elevation of Adesina by his peers. . He said Adesina who is also the deputy editor in chief of The Sun newspapers had given a good account of himself as a reporter, writer, columnist and editor. –
” I have no doubt whatsoever that Mr. Adesina will steer the ship of the Guild to greater heights. He is a great team player astute manager and humanist. He represents the best example of responsible and responsive journalism and has over the years given a good account of himself at the professional level while also contributing to the development of the country in various capacities. I also believe that his elevation will witness the rejuvenation of the best tradition of journalism. My prayer is that the good Lord will continue to imbue him with strength and wisdom he needs to shoulder this new responsibility. I congratulate him on his election and also salute his colleagues for making the right choice in Adesina,” Daniel said
The former governor advised Adesina not to allow the pressure of his new office prevent him from continuing with his incisive and thought provoking column which he described as a must read for all lovers of intellectual writings.
