Our Winter Olympics Team, Proof Nigeria Can Do The Unimaginable, Impossible – Atiku

 Former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, has  wished  Nigeria an outstanding and memorable outing at the 2018 Winter Olympics starting PyeongChang, South Korea on the 8th of February.

Atiku Abubakar, a statement released by his media office Abuja, described  Nigeria’s quest at the Winter Games as historic, considering that the country does experience any snow.

“Once again, Nigeria is proving to the world and, most importantly, to ourselves, that we can do the unimaginable and the impossible once we set hearts on it,” he said.

Atiku Abubakar praised  the trio of Ngozi Onwumere, Akuoma Omeoga, Seun Adigun and Simi Adeagbo, who will represent Nigeria bobsled and skeleton respectively, at the games.

The three women competing in bobsled were originally in track and field eventually switched to bobsled and qualified for the Olympics, a feat which Atiku Abubakar described  as pure evidence of the indomitable spirit of Nigeria to conquer new grounds.

Atiku Abubakar is thrilled to note that the trio’s audacious goal of becoming Africa’s -ever bobsled team to go to the Winter Olympics was the motivating force in the qualification of Simi Adeagbo for the skeleton event.

“These are an example of what each and every one of us can accomplish once we set hearts to it, irrespective of the obstacles that may lie in path.

“I wish these brave women the as they fly nation’s flag at the Olympics. May they be an inspiration to us all to chart new territories and seek to conquer new grounds.”
