Prof. Charles Igwe, the outgoing Vice-chancellor of University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) on Friday inaugurated projects executed by Prof. Ikechukwu Onyishi, the Dean, Faculty Pharmaceutical Sciences amidst joy by staff and students of the faculty.
Igwe whose 5-year tenure would end on June 10, applauded Onyishi for his good leadership and urged staff and students of the faculty to ensure judicious use of various projects executed by the Dean.
“I commend Onyishi in a special way for recording this wonderful achievements in less two years as the Dean of Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
“This projects will go a long way in enhancing quality teaching and learning in the faculty.
“I urge staff and students to ensure the judicious use of these projects and its maintenance so that it will last long as well as justify money invested on them” Igwe said.
In a remark, Onyishi (the Dean) expressed appreciation to staff and students of the faculty for their maximum support and cooperation since he assumed office as the Dean of the Faculty on August 2022.
The dean expressed special gratitude to the Faculty Board for their good directives, advice and encouragement, noting that his achievements would not have been possible without the board.
“I appreciate staff and students of for their maximum corporation and in a special way I remain grateful to the Faculty Board for their good directives, encouragements, support and advice that made it possible for me to record these achievements,” he said.
The Dean applauded the outgoing VC whom he noted had always given special attention to issues concerning the faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
“We thanked the VC who in spite of his tight schedules made out time to inaugurate these projects, Igwe has once again demonstrated the volume of love and care he has for the faculty,” Onyishi said.
Onyishi listed projects inaugurated to include; 34.5 KVA Solar installations to support CBT exams and Dean’s office , CCTV cameras and security lights in the Multipurpose faculty building, expansion of the 200-seater digital Library to 400-seater digital Library with extra 200 laptops and counting for CBT examination.
Others are 2 HP Proliant Server, DL 380 Gen, 10 Server with 256 GB RAM and 4 TB SSD alongside fiber LAN network installation, Biometric installations for students examination and lecture attendance 48 CCTv Cameras covering the entire Faculty Building Model Pharmacy Shop in the faculty and a robust Central Laboratory, well equipped.
