Dr. AbdulMuminu Isah, the Chief Imam of University of Nigeria Nsukka Central Mosque, says to fix the country from the present economic hardship and security challenges every Nigerian must contribute his/her own quota.

Isah said this in Nsukka on Sunday in a remark during service to mark this year’s Eid-el-kabir celebration.

He said if all Nigerians should do the right thing in workplaces, markets and families the present problems facing the country would be a thing of the past.

“God has given us the wisdom and strength to do right things as human beings, until we obey God’s command in humility and submissiveness like Prophet Ibrahim did, the problems in the country would continue to linger.

“Some people think leadership is our only problem in this country but I tell you, if we do the right thing in our workplaces, markets, mosques, churches and families the country will be good again.

“To fix our country, all hands must be on deck irrespective of tribe, religion, language or political affiliations,” he said.

The Chief Imam who is also a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Chemical Pharmacy and Pharmacy Management in UNN explained that, Eid el kabir celebration was meant to commemorate the willingness of Ibrahim to sacrifice his son as act of obedience to Allah’s command.

“Prophet Ibrahim obeys God’s command in his vision to sacrifice his only son Ishimail to Allah before Allah through an angel provided him with a ram.

“We should emulate Ibrahim’s proof of obedience and humility that made Allah to provide a ram to him for sacrifice instead of his son.

He advised Muslims to show love to their neighbours at all time irrespective of tribe, language, religion or political affiliations.

“Allah direct us to share the Sallah meat and food with our neighbours and friends irrespective of their tribe, language, religion or political affiliations.

“We must always show love to everybody around us without discrimination since God loves us everyday without any condition,” Chief Imam said.

In an interview later our Correspondent, a Muslim Elder, Jibrim Isah, who said he is the representative of Attah of Igala in Enugu North Senatorial District urged Nigerians to always be obedient to leaders in order to move the country forward.

“Let us imbibe the spirit of obedient, humility and submissiveness as demostrated by Prophet Ibrahim to move our country forward.

“We should be our brother’s keeper irrespective of our religion, tribe, language or political affiliations,”he said
