UDUS is European Quality Award winner for 2011 – Prof. Shehu, VC

The Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS) has won the 2011 European Quality Award because of the remarkable successes recorded by it in all academic endeavours, Prof. Riskuwa Shehu, the institution’s Vice Chancellor has disclosed.

Also, the University scored 68.9% in the 2011 Nationwide Institutional Accreditation Exercise by National University Commission (NUC).

Shehu spoke on Wednesday when 4,024 students were matriculated for the 2013/2014 academic session during the 35th ceremony.

Prof. Shehu who added that the University has a record of academic excellence, peace, absence of cultist as well as entrenched moral values, stressed that UDUS had grown to eleven faculties, postgraduate school, with about 16,000 students, presently.

Dr. Ibrahim Magawata, Dean of Student Affairs, affirmed that UDUS has record of zero tolerance to sexual harassment, drug abuse, cultism, etc.

“With regard to discipline, this University is second to none. It has it’s watchdogs all over the campuses to ensure that rules and regulations are obeyed,” he warned.
