Thousands of sympathizers attend Bala’s elder brother’s third day Fidau prayer



Bala_MohammedThousands of sympathizers from all walks of life converged on Duguri, Bauchi State to attend the third day fidau prayers for Mallam Yusuf Mohammed Baba, OON, the late elder brother of the FCT Minister,Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, CON, who died last Friday.
The fidau prayers took at the Palace of the District Head in Duguri, Bauchi State on Monday.
The Chief Imam of Duguri, Sheikh Umar Mohammed Gidado who led the other Mallams fervently prayed for the repose of the gentle soul of the late public servant, traditional ruler and community leader who spent most of his time in the service of Allah and humanity.
However, Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi was represented on the occasion by one of his sons, Sheikh Ibrahim.
He also prayed for the deceased immediate family, brothers/sisters as well as subjects the resilience to bear the irreparable loss.
It may be noted that Mallam Baba who was a veteran teacher and bureaucrat during his rich public service career, taught and served as Principal of many notable Colleges such as Government Secondary Schools in Azare, Bauchi State, Funtua in Katsina State, Yarwa, Maiduguri in Borno State, Potiskum in Yobe State, before ascending the throne of his ancestors.
The Late Mallam Baba was a holder of Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics (1965) from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He was also the pioneer Registrar of the Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi;
Permanent Secretary and Secretary to the Bauchi State Government (SSG) at different times.
Until his death at the ripe age of 80 years on Friday, February 7,2014, Mallam Baba was the District Head and Sarkin Duguri, Bauchi State.
Earlier, several dignitaries paid their condolences to the FCT Minister, Senator Bala Mohammed in Duguri and they include Alhaji Ahmed Adamu Muazu, National Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP); the Deputy Governor of Bauchi State, Alhaji Sagir Aminu Saleh; Head of Service of the Federation, Alhaji Bukar Aji, FCT Permanent Secretary, Engr. John O. Chukwu; former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Alhaji Yayale Ahmed; Federal Permanent Secretaries,
former FCT Ministers, Engr. Mohammed Abba-Gana and Dr. Aliyu Modibbo Umar respectively; several members of the National Assembly, Emir of Dass, Bauchi State; Mai Tangale, Gombe State, Chairman FCT Traditional Council with all his members amongst others.
