Taraba Speaker Dead… He Was A Political Stabiliser, Says Atiku

Nigerians received another shocking news from Taraba State Monday as it emerged that the Speaker of the State House of Assembly,Hon Haruna Tsokwa passed on earlier in the day at the Federal Medical Centre,Jalingo.Reports said he died after brief illness.He reportedly took ill last Thursday .
The state has been in a state of flux following the plane crash involving the Governor Dambaba Suntai who is yet to recover fully.His deputy ,Garba Umar has been holding the position of acting governor at the instance of the State House of Assembly.
Meanwhile,former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has paid tribute to late Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly, Hon. Haruna Tsokwa saying his stabilising factor in the politics of Taraba state especially at this crucial time will be sorely missed.
The former Vice President said in a statement by his media office in Abuja yesterday that it was an irony of life that Tsokwa who miraculously survived attack by gunmen on the Jos-Abuja Road in September succumb to the cold hands of death after a reported brief illness.
Atiku said that the best way to immortalise the late Speaker is to sustain the political stability in the state for which Tsokwa had assiduously worked for before his death.
He expressed his condolences to the Tsokwa, family and the people and government of Taraba State over the demise of their legislative leader.
He prayed to God for grant his soul eternal repose and to strengthen and the family.
