The Minister of Sports and Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi today in Abuja announced the dissolution of the Board of the Nigeria Academicals Sports Committee (NASCOM).
Abdullahi said the measure was geared towards repositioning the body for greater efficiency in the discovery and nurturing of grassroots talents especially through school sports.
He thanked members of the previous board, especially the Chairman, Chief Segun Odegbami, for their various contributions and efforts towards achieving the mandate of NASCOM.
A statement by Julius Ogunro, media aide to the minister said a new board would be announced soon.
