The Sokoto House of Assembly Wednesday presented Deputy Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu’s letter of resignation.
The Deputy Governor on Tuesday, tendered his letter of resignation from the position to the House of Assembly but was not read at the floor of the House.
At the sitting of the House Wednesday, the letter was presented at the floor by the Deputy Speaker, Alhaji Abubakar Magaji, who presided over the plenary.
“With gratitude to Allah who granted me the opportunity to serve my state, I wish to humbly inform the Assembly of my resignation as Deputy Governor with effect from Nov. 13, 2018.
“I, therefore, wish to extend my sincere appreciation to Gov. Aminu Tambuwal, Assembly members and the entire people of Sokoto state for the support accorded me during my service,” Aliyu’s letter read. (NAN)
