Shock as security men arrest ,quiz man with arms at venue of ministerial briefing

Events  at Radio House Abuja, venue of federal ministerial briefing today took a near- tragic turn as a man was arrested with arms right inside the premises.The suspect identified as John Akpabu  was caught with a bag containing explosives.

But it was a close shave for those present at Radio House because the suspect had clearly entered the premises.A source at the s scene  said the suspect had passed through the first and second security checkpoints before he was apprehended at the  third and final point . “If he had passed through the third he would have had access to the main building ,but he ran out of luck,”the source said.

It was learnt that at the time the suspected suicide bomber was caught ,Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi Minister of Youth development who doubles as  sport minister  was the one  briefing the audience about the activities of his ministry inside, oblivious  of  the danger lurking around.But the minister  and some other just noticed that people were strolling out and there was some rowdiness which compelled him and others to ask  what was going on.Other ministers at today’s briefing included Stella Odua of aviation and Labaran Maku, information

Newsdiaryonline learnt that “people were shocked as the suspect who had ammunition on him was not a muslim ,neither was he looking like any of these bombers.People were now asking him questions where are you from  and a host of others” said an eye withness who said it was a rude shock in deed. “At some point ,the security men had made  the suspect  to sit down on bare floor while the chap was being interrogated and journalists took pictures furiously” the eye witness said .

In that melee the “ security men also felt there that something could go bad if the chap was allowed to continue staying there as no one was sure whether the chap had any accomplice nearby or not. So the security men  decided to take him away to an undisclosed place to quiz him further”,the eye witness said.
