Nigeria Professional Football league side, Shark FC of Port-Harcourt is short of funds, a condition which may derail its campaigns in the league next season, team secretary, Cyril Wite has disclosed.
Wite said the biggest challenge confronting the club is scarcity of funds, adding that this has impaired the team’s ability to discharge its set responsibility prior to the commencement of the league.
He exonerated the Rivers State side from being a culprit in the ongoing custom of withholding players from moving forward. He said Sharks FC does engage in any act that violates the rules governing Nigeria’s elite football competition.
He disclosed that, despite the financial drought rocking Sharks, the players and management of the team have resolved to go all out in chase of a continental ticket, with their eye set on putting up a stiff challenge for the title at the end of the season.
Speaking on their preparations to do battle in the league, he said “ we are preparing just like other teams..”
