A source in Sambo’s residence  later on Wednesday told Newsdiaryonline that  the raid was carried out by operatives of ICPC and DSS.

“They came with heavily armed security personnel for two hours between 3pm and 5pm,” a  source stressed.

When  Newsdiaryonline  arrived the Alimi residence of the former number two citizen, fierce looking security operatives  threatened to shoot at our correspondent and other journalists  if they  got  closer to the house.

Eyewitness who spoke with our correspondent said the team had repeatedly raided the house of the former VP on several occasions.

‘We are not sure whether this time they found something in the house. The presence of the bullion van  raised our suspicions .

Also when contacted, a source close to  the former VP said the operatives  had  raided  the house for the fifth time and nothing  has been found.

Sambo who was vice President to ex President Goodluck Jonathan had been relatively quiet since their defeat in 2015 by President Muhammadu Buhari.

His most celebrated outing was a visit to acting President Yemi Osinbajo at the Presidential Villa, a few months ago.
