Sanusi returns,passport briefly seized,released at MMIA

A few hours after he was suspended by President Goodluck Jonathan, the former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi Thursday arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos through a private terminal Excu-Jet yesterday.

The embattled former governor of CBN arrived the Execu- Jet private terminal at about 3.20pm in a chartered Gulf Stream jet with registration number G- Sent but did not speak on arrival .
He was said to have flew into Lagos from Niger Republic.

On arrival at the terminal it was alleged that the Immigration officials initially seized the former governor’s international passport but it was released to him after allegedly getting clearance from above.
The former CBN governor was received by the former Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mallam Nasir El-Rufai and other associates.

Some women dressed in northern attire, who could not immediately identified were also among those who received him; but they were not allowed inside the terminal by security men at the security post

Before he finally landed at the Execu jet,it was not clear where the controversial former Apex banker governor was going to land, as there were speculations that he was going to land at Dominion private terminal, while others said he would either land at Ever Green or Execu private terminal, three of the best private terminals in the country.
As at the time of filling this report, unconfirmed report said that the controversial banker was driven to undisclosed location at Ikoyi.
