Rivers 2011 guber candidates commend Amaechi’s performance

Governorship candidates in Rivers State who contested the 2011 gubernatorial elections have expressed great satisfaction with Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi’s performance in the State.

Chairman of the Coalition of the Rivers 2011 Governorship Candidates, Prince Uchechukwu Ichenwo who led other members of the coalition on a courtesy call on Governor Amaechi Tuesday, said in an address that they are impressed with Amaechi’s achievements.

“We salute your sincere purposeful leadership in Rivers State. We appreciate the enormous investment the government has made in the power sector especially in the area of power generation. So far you have done well with your primary healthcare system.

“In the same vein, you have done more purposefully well in the educational sector. We wish to particularly congratulate you on the recent N400m (Four hundred million Naira) Universal Basic Education Award which you decided to re-invest in the construction of more model primary schools”. On road, the Coalition commended Governor Amaechi for rehabilitating and constructing new roads in the state. “Your sense of rehabilitation of existing road network in Rivers State is unparalleled”, they said.

The Coalition of Rivers 2011 Governorship Candidates further extolled Governor Amaechi’s accomplishments in other sectors.The Coalition chairman said, “We commend you on your housing scheme so far.

“We sincerely commend you on your environmental waste management scheme being put in place at various parts of the state”. On transport and security, the coalition again praised the Rivers State Governor.

“We appreciate your zeal in the transport sector.  We commend your foresight in setting up the Rivers State Traffic Management Authority (TIMARIV).

“We commend your huge investment in security which has created the enabling environment for increased investment in the state”. They pledged to partner with him in the advancement of the noble goals of the Amaechi administration.  “As a coalition, we make bold to say that we are willing and ready to partner with you”.

Responding, Governor Amaechi thanked them for the visit, saying he was humbled by their presence and commendation. He also said their warm commendation for his progressive work would even inspire him to do more.
