‘Resign or I sack you’- Bala threatens non-performing directors

Bala FCT MinisterThe FCT Minister, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed CON, has asked all non-performing directors in the FCT Administration to either resign or be sacked.
The Minister issued this threat on Monday after the FCT Operations Briefing in Gwarinpa I District, (Life-camp) and on the spot assessment of projects and social services in the Federal Capital City, Abuja.
Senator Mohammed reiterated that his Administration decided to revolutionalize the act of governance by carrying the whole members of the FCT Operations Briefing in addition to some members of the FCT Security Committee to assess the actual state of metropolitan services instead of taking briefs, which may not be accurate.
According to him, some of the Directors of the Operational Departments are economical with the true state of services to the residents of the Federal Capital Territory, which is unacceptable.
The Minister emphasized that his Administration has a transformational mandate from President Goodluck Jonathan to improve infrastructure and services in the entire 8,000 square kilometers of the Federal Capital Territory and he would do just that.
He warned Directors of Operational Departments to either shape in or shape out, as enough is enough because there are no more excuses.
Senator Mohammed thus, announced the setting up of an High Powered Task Force headed by the FCT Police Commissioner, Mr. Mbu Joseph Mbu to galvanize all security agencies in the Territory to effectively enforce all FCT By-Laws including the ban on Commercial Motorcycles, restriction of Tricycle (KEKE-NAPEP) to designated areas in the Abuja metropolis, street hawkers, beggars as well as menace of the commercial sex workers.

The Minister seized the opportunity to handover 45 brand new operational Hilux Vehicles and a Black Maria to various security, agencies at Area 11, Garki I District, to help in effective enforcement of laws.
Responding, the FCT Police Commissioner, Mr. Mbu Joseph Mbu appreciated the kind gesture of the FCT Minister; saying that the Minister and the FCT Police Command are on the same page, particularly in fighting crime and criminalities.
Mr. Mbu warmed that Abuja is not for criminals and law breakers; adding that they should immediately move out of Abuja because they wouldn’t not have any hiding place in the entire Federal Capital Territory.
The FCT Permanent Secretary, Engr. John O. Chukwu fnse, FCDA Executive Secretary, Engr. Adamu Ismaila, Chief of Staff to the FCT Minister, Alhaji Yau Mohammed Gital, Mandate Secretaries, Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants, Commandant of Nigeria Security & Civil Defence Corps, FCT Sector Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps; Director, DSS in FCT and National Drug Law Enforcement Agency counterpart, as well as the FCT Directors attended the Operations Briefing.
