#TrackNigeria: As Muslims all over the world begin the compulsory fast to mark this year’s holy month of Ramadan, the Peoples Democratic Party senatorial candidate for Kaduna Central, Lawal Adamu Usman (Mr LA) has called on Nigerians to take advantage of the sacred month to seek God’s intervention in the current unhappy security situation in the country.

LA who made the plea in a statement signed by his special media consultant, Abdul-Azeez Suleiman, said the current security situation particularly in almost every part of northern Nigeria, requires converted prayers for God Almighty to intervene.

Regretting that the government of the day appears helpless while innocent citizens are killed, others abducted for ransom, LA said the sacred month of Ramadan provides a perfect opportunity to be utilised in seeking the grace of Allah towards ending the situation.

“It is saddening that today Nigerians cannot travel the road from Kaduna to Abuja for fear of murderous bandits who take over control of the highway for hours everyday and kill, maim, kidnap and terrorise travellers unhindered.

“The implication of this is that the entire Northwest and a large part of the North Central have been effectively cut off from the Federal Capital and by extension, the southern part of Nigeria which will have negative consequences on trade and northern economic viability in the long run.

“All areas around Zamfara, Katsina and Kaduna states that have ample agricultural potential are today under the threat of an escalating banditry that is already leaving in its wake, a traumatized population helplessly and hopelessly wallowing in an increasingly uncertain environment,” LA said.

He warned of the futility of allowing the search for solutions to the fundamentals of our national existence on the shoulders of “an administration that had acquired the reputation of being the worst in the history of our nation in terms of any capacity to generate confidence in achieving credible national goals.”
