President Buhari welcomes Trudeau’s re-election



Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated Justin Trudeau, the Prime Minister Canada, on his re-emergence after a hard fought snap election.

The congratulatory message was conveyed by the Senior Special Assistant to the on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, on Tuesday in Abuja. 

Buhari said: “On behalf my family, the government and people Nigeria, I congratulate a true friend Nigeria and Africa following his well-deserved re-election as Prime Minister.

“I look forward to working together to further strengthen the existing cordial bilateral relations.”

The News Agency Nigeria (NAN) reports that Trudeau won a third term in Canada’ snap election.

Trudeau’ Liberal was elected in 158 the 338 seats in the House Commons, 99 per cent the polls reporting.

This is one more seat than he won in the vote in 2019.

The main opposition Conservatives, under Erin O’Toole, won 119 seats, two fewer than time. (NAN)
