Polio:An embarrassment to Nigeria–Mark

President of the Senate, Senator David Mark has lamented that the unabating  cases of polio affecting Children the country is a major embarrassment to the nation.

“It is a major embarrassment that is one of the three polio most affected countries. All because of sentiments and people taking advantage of the ignorance of the ordinary citizen,”Senator regretted .

the Rotary Club International District 9125 incoming and outgoing governors visited Abuja , Senator Mark stressed that Nigerians from which ever divide should be free to practice religion inhibition , reiterating that is a secular state  adequately prescribed the constitution.

Senator Mark noted that it is ungodly for some elite to mislead the uninformed, saying , ” We must do all we can collaboration with voluntary organizations or non governmental organizations to eradicate polio and remove this shame and embarrassment on the nation”.

He also praised the Rotary International for helping to eradicate polio and partnering with government to provide water for the needy as well as improving sanitation across the country.

Such efforts, Senator Mark added would greatly alleviate the suffering of the citizens and improve the of living.

Earlier, the in coming governor of Rotary 9125 Mr. Aninze Felix who would take from Rotarian Felix Obadan on July 2013 said his would be on sanitation and provision of water to the needy in the society..

He explained that Rotary International is a volunteer organisation of business and professional leaders who provide humanitarian services and help to build goodwill and peace in the world.
