A total of 252 officers and men of Adamawa Police Command were on Thursday decorated with their new ranks in a ceremony in Yola.
Those promoted included 3 SP promoted to CSP, 5 DSP promoted to SP, 3 ASP promoted DSP, 48 INSP promoted ASP11, 10 SGT promoted to INSP, 10 CPL promoted to SGT and 173 PC promoted to CPL.
Addressing the newly promoted policemen, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr John Abakasanga, urged them to live up to expectation and always strive to justify the confidence reposed in them.
“It is therefore my hope that these promotees will live up to the confidence reposed in them by the Inspector General of police who found them worthy of this rare privilege, for it is said that promotion is not as of right but a privilege.
” It is our mandate to continue to ensure that we have a peaceful society for the pursuit of our political, economic and social life”, Abakasanga said.
He urged those who do not benefitted from the promotion exercise not to be discouraged but to work harder as the promotion was a continuous exercise.
