The wrangling in the Sokoto chapter of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP), Monday reached its height when some members of the party booed their leader, former Governor Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa and party chairman, Ibrahim Milgoma at the Sultan Abubakar International Airport, Sokoto.

Newsdiaryonline reports   that the members of the party were at the Airport to receive Chief Tony Anenih who was in Sokoto to reconcile warring members who allegedly insist that Milgoma was not qualified to lead the party.

The angry members, Newsdiaryonline witnessed, were chanting, “Bamu son mulkin jahili (We don’t want an illiterate as a leader,” apparently referring to the current PDP chairman who they allege has not entered the four-corner classroom.

The development resulted in Bafarawa breaking off from Anenih’s convoy and driving straight to his house instead of Giginya Hotel, venue of the reconciliatory meeting.

Newsdiaryonline recalls that some members of the party in the state are against the leadership of Milgoma who they allege was imposed on them by Bafarawa.

In fact, there are two separate court cases at the Sokoto State High Court challenging the PDP state primaries, which the litigants claim were manipulated by Bafarawa.
