Prof. Julius Ihonvbere has once again taken a swipe at the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP as a retrogressive organization. He made the charge today at a well attended ward rally solely organized by him in the 11 wards that make up Owan West local Government as part of his campaign tour for Governor Oshiomhole reelection bid. Starting from ward 01, Ozalla, all through to ward 06, the professor of political economy who dumped the PDP two weeks ago for the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN reassures the party faithful that he has truly left the party and no amount of intimidation will make him reverse that decision.
He said the reason why he wanted to be governor was to complete the work governor Oshiomhole has started. He added that unknown to him , the PDP would never change its politics of imposition. Now that he couldn’t get the governorship ticket the only option open to him is to support governor Oshiomhole so as to finish the good work he has started. Prof Ihonvbere conveyed the Governor’s promise to the people of Owan West that he would build a higher institution in the local government in his second term in office. He pledged that any ward that gets the highest vote for the ACN will receive N1 million price .He also vowed to extend scholarship to two persons in that ward from his Foundation.
He chided the PDP for fielding a half-baked deputy governorship candidate from Owan West whose only visible appearance in the National Assembly for 4 years was when he was caught chewing cola nut in the supposedly hallowed chambers.
ACN party chairman in the local government, Hon. Peter Eguaboi admonished governorOshiomhole’s teaming supporters to vote for their son who is from Afenmai as the party cannot afford to play second fiddle in a disparaged group like the PDP. He thanked everyone for turning out in large number.
