#TrackNigeria: The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has alleged plans by the All Progressive Party (APC) to massively rig, engage in vote buying and use thugs for violence in the Kuje Chairmanship re-run elections.
Hon. Yusuf Dabo, spokesperson for the PDP chairmanship candidate, Hon.Abdulahi Sabo, disclosed this to newsmen in Kuje on Tuesday.
It could be recalled that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had on Saturday March 9, declared the Kuje Chairmanship elections inconclusive due to electoral violence at some poling units in Rubochi.
The spokesperson said that APC had been engaged in voters’ inducement and vote buying during the last election, noting that investigation by PDP revealed that the APC have plans to use thugs to disrupt the re-run elections.
“APC have recruited thugs from neighbouring states and to use INEC and Federal myth to rig the re-run elections.
“They also plan to engage in vote buying and incite violence because the special adviser on security to the incumbent Chairman Hon. Abdulahi Galadima was caught with arms and animations.
“The will of the people should not be downgraded and it is not good for the development of our democracy,” he said.
Dabo said the party would ensure strict resistance to the APC and its candidate, to steal the peoples’ mandate, saying that it would also ensure every vote is counted during the re-run election.
He noted that winning election should not be seen as do or die affair but the situation was different in the case of APC as they want to come to power at all cost at the detriment of the peoples choice.
“Every area council where PDP is leading in FCT, INEC have declared Inconclusive elections in such places, this cannot be coincidence but calculated vendetta.
“PDP won in eight electoral wards out of ten; we don’t know which magic they are going to use to win elections in the two remaining wards.
“Our supporters have been advised to be calm and law abiding as victory shall be ours particularly in Rubochi where we beat APC in the last presidential and Senate Elections,” he said.
