Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, will chair the inaugural Public Sector Risk and Governance Summit (PSRGS) 2021, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

Mr Joachim Adenusi, the Managing Director/CEO of Conrad Clark Nigeria (CCN), made this known in an interview with NAN on Friday in Lagos.

Adenusi, who is the Summit Chief Host, said the Vice President would give the opening address at the summit scheduled for Nov. 30.

He noted that Osinbajo’s acceptance to participate was a considerable endorsement of the group’s effort to engage Nigerian public sector institutions and political leaders in dialogues on the art of effective risk handling.

He added that the summit would galvanise stakeholders into embracing new approaches for delivering services, optimising public performance, and improving transparency and accountability.

Adenusi said the CCN’s flagship PSRGS was a platform for decision-makers, thought leaders and other stakeholders to discuss best practices in delivering good risk governance and efficient public services.

This, he said, would drive the country to achieve economic prosperity and social progress.

“It will also prevent future risks and leveraging opportunities amid uncertainties in a fast-changing world.

“We are greatly delighted that the Vice President will be our Summit Chair.

“Other speakers at the one-day hybrid summit include Dr Tayo Aduloju, Senior Fellow, Economic Policy, Strategy and Competitiveness at the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG).

“Also attending are Prof. M.L. Amadu, Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Research and Special Duties; Prof. Peter Young, 3M Chair in International Business at the Opus College of Business of University of St. Thomas, USA.

“Dr Majak D’Agoot, Visiting Senior Research Fellow at King’s College London; and Osita Chidoka, Founder, Unlock Naija, are other speakers,” he said.

Adenusi said sub-topics for the summit were: ‘Managing Risks in Public Sector: Advancing the practice of risk management to improve outcomes.’

Others are: Public Transparency and Accountability Risks: The Imperatives of good governance and economic opportunities’ among others.

NAN reports that the summit with the theme: “Unlocking the Heart of Nigeria – A Risk-Based Approach” is organised in collaboration with CLEEN Foundation, a civil society organisation focused on promoting public safety, security and accessible justice.

Others are Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC) and the Integrity Organisation, an anti-corruption research, advocacy and consulting organisation.

It is also supported by the National University Commission (NUC). (NAN)
