The leadership of Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, and the Trade Union Congress, TUC has called off the ongoing nationwide strike.
The decision of the Organised Labour leaders was made on Tuesday afternoon after a joint National Executive Council, NEC, meeting held in Abuja.
However, the Union disclosed to journalists that the strike will be suspended for one week pending on the outcome of the meeting with the Nigerian government set to hold later in the day.
Newsdiaryonline had reported how representatives of Organised Labour had after several meetings disagreed with the federal government over the issue of new minimum wage.
A deal however appeared to have been reached Monday night on a minimum wage not less than 60000. A final figure is still to be negotiated in subsequent meetings.
