The Northern States Governors Forum (NSGF) has condoled with the Emir of Hadejia in Jigawa State, Alhaji Abubakar Maje Haruna over the death of 11 palace guards who died in a motor accident during an official assignment, describing the death as a big loss to Hadejia Emirate Council, Jigawa State and Nigeria.
In a condolence message to the Government of Jigawa State and the families of the deceased palace guards, Chairman of the forum and Governor of Niger State, Dr Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu said Northern Governors were pained by the sudden death of the well groomed guards, who died in active service.
The forum’s message which is contained in a statement signed by Governor Aliyu’s Chief Press Secretary, Danladi Ndayebo, prayed God to grant the deceased eternal rest and their families, their friends and the good people of Hadejia Emirate Council the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
The forum urged all concerned with the safety of our roads, especially road users to take precaution, including strict adherence to safety rules and regulations in order to prevent a reoccurrence.
The statement said the nation cannot afford to continue to lose its productive citizens to avoidable road accidents.
